Senior Systems Biologist
One of the world’s most prestigious pharmaceutical companies is expanding their genomics unit in Oxford and seeking a dynamic and highly talented Senior Systems Biologist to push innovation and drive their early phase drug discovery. This is an exciting opportunity to be play a pivotal role in the development of new treatments for chronically ill patients. The Senior Systems Biologist will be working on experimental, early phase discovery and requires a passionate, highly creative and mathematical mind, as well as exceptional leadership skills and outstanding technical ability.
Senior Systems Biologist responsibilities would be:
-Working with large, complex datasets, developing and implementing 3D computational and predictive models
– Working with cutting edge methods such as single-cell sequencing and CRISPR
-Make predictions about novel targets
-Interact across departments with internal stakeholders from Bioinformatics, Discovery Biology, Pharmacology etc.
-Strengthen external collaborations with academic community
Requirements of the position:
-PhD or Post-Doc in Computational Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning, Statistical Genomics or a related discipline
-Expertise in applying machine learning/modelling techniques to complex biological data
– A background in systems biology, systems pharmacology or QSP is desirable
-Strong understanding of biology and drug discovery processes
-Dynamic, innovative, energetic personality that enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants freedom for creativity
-Ability to work under pressure, delivering projects under strict timelines
-Leadership skills, mentoring experience
