We have a superb contract opening with a top 10 pharmaceutical company! On offer is a 1 year contract with a highly competitive rate.

This role is based at the site in Surrey and is a key leadership role in the HEOR department. The role will involve managing the development of health technology assessment (HTA) strategies and plans which are aligned to brand plans for new and existing products. Manage cross-functional teams in the development and submission of evidence dossiers to NICE, SMC and AWMSG. Manage HTA processes, including consultation phases, to achieve the desired outcomes to time, message and budget. Provide HE&OR leadership, within and outside the business, in support of the Head of HE&OR.

Full responsibilities include –

*Develop and communicate health economic value arguments for new and existing products

*Develop HTA strategies and plans for new and existing products which are consistent with the brand plans and facilitate national market access at a price that reflects the value of the product

*Manage internal and external suppliers to develop, adapt and validate HTA deliverables (e.g. systematic literature reviews, indirect & mixed treatment comparisons, health economic models, submission documents)

*Manage cross-functional teams in the development of high quality HTA submission dossiers and high quality responses to consultations, questions and requests from HTA bodies. This will include appropriate presentation of clinical and health economic data to support the desired product positioning

*Drive positive interactions with HTA bodies and effectively represent the company at public committee meetings and other HTA-associated meetings as required (e.g. with NHSE)

*Collaborate with Global and Region teams to ensure that clinical development plans, HTA strategies/deliverables and pricing strategies take account of UK HTA needs. This will include working as part of a core team to develop (Global) health economic models that are fit for purpose in the UK

*Engage in HTAs of competitor products to ensure that evidence for company products is appropriately considered and reflected in appraisal documentation

*Conceive and/or implement HE&OR evidence generation projects to address data gaps for HTA submissions and manage/support their delivery in accordance with company processes

*Publish HE&OR research at congresses and in peer reviewed journals

*Be the UK internal source of HE&OR/HTA expertise, and keep abreast of trends and developments

*Contribute as a constructive member of the Brand, HE&OR and Market Access teams

Additional duties

*Deputising for the Head of HE&OR at internal and external meetings

*Supporting the Head of HE&OR to enhance the reputation, credibility and profile of HE&OR with internal and external stakeholders, including HTA bodies and trade associations

*Mentoring, coaching and supporting HE&OR Managers, and supervising placement students. This will include advising HE&OR Managers on challenging HTA submissions and influencing development of Global HTA strategies and health economic models to address challenging product value propositions

*Taking on additional product/therapy area responsibilities and/or key business critical tasks that require significant HE&OR expertise e.g. shaping the external HTA policy environment by leading company responses to HTA process/methods consultations and supporting the Head of HE&OR build the team through interviewing candidates for HE&OR Manager roles

To be considered you will need the following experience –

*Proven experience of personally leading at least two successful NICE/SMC/AWMSG submissions or international equivalent, including development of HTA strategy, which resulted in optimal outcomes
*Experience of developing at least two health economic models resulting in optimal outcomes in an HTA submission process or international equivalent
*Experience of managing at least two HTA-related evidence generation/outcomes research projects to successful completion
*In depth understanding of UK HTA processes (NICE, SMC and AWMSG) and HTA-associated processes (e.g. NHSE)
*Contribution to HTA strategy at a Region/Global level, including input into clinical development/evidence generation plans
*Strong commercial awareness and solid understanding of the broader market access arena
*Experience of coaching/mentoring and/or training
*Demonstration of strong leadership skills
*Excellent English comprehension and writing skills
