Scientific Data Manager
A thriving biotech based in the Cambridge are is expanding rapidly due to continued success and is currently seeking an experienced Data Manager to join their expert Data Analytics division. The company has harnessed a unique approach to drug discovery that has could revolutionise treatment options for a range of debilitating diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
This is a pivotal role within the business that would be responsible for managing and curating rapidly growing amounts of pre-clinical data for multiple drug development programmes. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a biotech/pharmaceutical
environment, and highly experienced in managing large volumes of data.
Main responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing procedures for effective data management.
*Working closely with the scientific teams to define (and improve) appropriate data systems, structures and processes.
*Create rules and procedures for data input and sharing.
*Manage and curate all data generated by the company’s scientific programmes.
*Monitor and maintain data processes and systems to secure system robustness and data analysis quality.
*Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.
*Assist with selecting and implementing digital security systems to protect sensitive information.
The ideal candidate will have:
*3+ years’ experience in data management or analysis in a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology context.
*A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics or a related discipline
*Ability to decipher and organise large amounts of data.
*Strong general IT and database skills.
*Experience with SQL databases, python or similar tools is a plus.
*Experience with Chem-/Bio-informatics platforms such as Dotmatics or Biovia.
*An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in nontechnical terms.
