As Data Engineer you are accountable for enabling the transformation of data into insights. Fully leveraging your expertise in pharmacology research and data management you will contribute to the ingestion and the maintenance of data necessary for driving approaches towards developing the next generation of high impact medicines.
Tasks & responsibilities
*Establishing and maintaining sustainable and comprehensive data assets according to the FAIR principles.
*Making data assets available to therapeutic areas and data scientists within the Innovation Unit (IU).
*Identifying, validating and exploiting new external data sources provided by academic and commercial partners.
*Contributing to the development of data analysis- and visualization platforms.
*Enableing cross-functional linking of data concepts, vocabularies and taxonomies to ensure a seamless connection of data from different areas.
*PhD in biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, information sciences or a related field.
*Understanding of data domains that are relevant for pre-clinical and clinical drug discovery and development.
*Profound understanding of data integration- and management concepts like e.g. semantic data integration or FAIR principles.
*Familiarity with IT data infrastructure concepts like data lake and/or graph data bases.
*Experience with programming- and query languages like Python, Java, SQL and SPARQL.
