Principal Scientist – Computational Biology- Cardiometabolic Diseases
Your task as a Principal Scientist is to identify novel putative targets by cutting edge in silico analyses, strengthen new therapeutic concepts and identify biomarkers in the area of cardiometabolic diseases, using leading edge computational methods to drive faster, improved decision making, ultimately developing impactful therapies for our patients.
Tasks & responsibilities
-Conceive and direct the implementation of data-driven solutions to support target identification, target-driven research and presentation of results to your stakeholders and the TA and GCBDS management board.
-Work with data from multiple domains, such as transcriptomics (RNAseq, scRNAseq) or genetics using established and innovative methods.
-Contribute to projects during all phases – from experimental design to downstream analysis in interdisciplinary teams.
-Establish and develop new analysis strategies in the field of omics data, network biology and machine learning aiming to push boundaries in drug discovery.
-PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology or systems biology research or similar with strong quantitative focus and excellent programming skills. Alternatively, master’s degree with long-term professional experience.
-Previous projects in cardiometabolic indications are desirable.
-In-depth knowledge and broad spectrum in bioinformatics and computational biology with a focus on omics data.
-Deep knowledge in R/Bioconductor (preferred) or Python and solid background in statistics and experimental design.
