Junior Field Service Engineer
A scientific instrument sales and service company, specialised in selling tablet testing systems to pharmaceutical laboratories, is looking for a Junior Field Service Engineer.
The successful applicant will be educated in a scientific field to degree level or equivalent, be computer literate and will ideally demonstrate competence working in a GXP or compliant analytical laboratory environment (additional training will be provided). Furthermore, they should be able to work independently and are able to work in a timely fashion whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of work and documentation required.
The on-site work involves the scheduled calibration and qualification of instrumentation and ranges from basic mechanical testing to comprehensive instrument validations using analytical chemistry methodologies. In addition, the jobholder will be expected to provide frontline breakdown support and repair services to our customers across the UK, and to complete these repairs in a safe, logical and timely manner.
The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the development, validation and continuous improvement of qualification procedures and protocols. They will also assist in the updating of documentation to support this work whilst complying with our internal quality systems.
Applicants should exhibit the ability to cope with handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising the quality of each individual task and must be able to work as an integral part of on site service and calibration teams.
– Execute Maintenance and Validation Services at client sites across the UK.
-Provide effective client response services involving attending client sites for instrument Troubleshooting and Repair.
-Maintain customer support and calibration equipment.
-Assist in installation and qualification of new equipment.
-Assist in the preparation and execution of company run training courses both in house and at client sites.
– Assist in the development and execution of Maintenance and Validation services for instrument techniques.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-Educated to A-Level, in a Chemistry, or Scientifically related field.
-Experience of working in a GXP or compliant analytical laboratory environment.
-Effective communication and presentation skills.
-Able to work unsupervised and to be self-motivating.
-Full, clean, valid UK driving license.
-Valid UK working permit or visa, with a minimum 12 month renewal date.
-Successfully completed a scientific degree-level program of study.
-Working knowledge in one or more of the following analytical techniques: HPLC, GC,
Dissolution, UV Spectroscopy, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC).
-Company Car, Private Health Care Insurance, Laptop, Mobile Telephone.
-All business travel and home office expenses will be reimbursed.
-The job will entail travelling throughout the UK with some overnight stays each month.
-Occasional international travel may be required, in Europe and North America.
-Full training in the company products and procedures will be provided as required.
-Part of the remuneration package will be performance related.
-Preferred residential locations are within 50 miles of Swindon or the M4 corridor east.
