Information Science Analyst, Immunology
12 month contract – Belgium or UK based – Pharmaceutical – Scientific Information – Immunology
Our client, a global biopharmaceutical leader, is looking to add to their highly skilled Scientific Information Services team in Berkshire with a contractor for 12 months, with the view to extend. This company transform the lives of people living with severe diseases, particularly in the areas of the central nervous system and immunology. As the world moves towards tailored medicines and treatment, this organisation is at the forefront of translational medicine and target discovery.
This role will provide support to therapeutic projects, with an emphasis on delivering competitive analysis and insight both in the research department and also globally in the organisation. The candidate will partner with internal clients to understand their requests, identify the appropriate information sources, conduct subject matter investigation, evaluate and compare results and provide the most relevant scientific literature and business information, delivering insight that will enable actionable outcomes.
The candidate should have a good knowledge of discovery, research and development environment and have an information science background.
With a data-driven focus, the candidate will be expert in data collection, verification and visualisation of information and will align closely with the business to ensure information is represented in meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities will include:
*Scientific literature, patent, clinical trial data, patient-reported outcomes, business and competitor company-related information searching
*Gathering data from multiple information sources and evaluation of data for quality and accuracy
*Organises, prepares and delivers targeted results from multiple information sources in visualized formats
*Evaluates and recommends new information sources that might enhance competitor intelligence activities
*Postgraduate level with proven experience in the following areas
*A deep understanding of Informatics principles and practice
*Basic understanding of Immunology domain and a solid understanding and command of information science role
*They will also have proven and relevant experience of delivering support/solutions within a working environment of their own field of scientific expertise
*Good level of verbal and excellent level of written communication skills in English are essential
*The candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to transform complex theories/methodologies into messages suitable for a broad audience.
*This individual must be self-driven to maintain a competitive expertise in the information analyst field and must work well within a team-orientated, highly flexible and dynamic group.
*Experience with commercial tools to support competitive information monitoring, delivery and visualisation such as Spot fire, Pipeline pilot, Intellixir would be ideal
*Experience with pharmaceutical databases including but not limited to Pharmaprojects and Clarivate
*Ability to work in a matrix environment
