Bioinformatics Data Analyst
One of the leading research institutes in the world is currently seeking Bioinformatics Data Analysts to provide critical support with Covid-19 related projects. Working with a dynamic team of genomic experts across the fields of data analysis, computer science, mathematics, epidemiology and biology, you will be helping translate genetic data to improve public health decision making. There are positions available from entry level (MSc minimum) to Senior and Principal posts. All roles are currently 2 year FTC, with a view to being made permanent. Offices are based in Cambridge, although home working options are available.
The ideal candidate will have:
*An MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistical Genetics or a related discipline.
*Strong coding ability, with experience using R, Python, Perl or similar
*Excellent statistical skills with experience in the analysis of genomic data to answer precise biological and translational questions
*Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and methods
*An understanding of the principals of population genetics/epidemiology would be advantageous
*Some experience of machine learning would be beneficial, although not necessary
*Fantastic team work skills, and ability to work under pressure
