Team Lead Computational Biology in Immunology & Respiratory
Global Computational Biology and Digital Science (GCBDS) is a global team supporting the therapeutic areas with high-class computational and genomic analysis in their effort to provide novel, first-in class therapeutics to improve patient's health.
For this team I am looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Team Leader to drive and support projects in therapeutic areas of Immunology & Respiratory (I&R) Diseases and Cancer Immunology Research by combining scientific excellence with a goal- and stakeholder orientated mindset.
Tasks and Responsibilities Include:
*Manage computational activities to further drive discovery research and portfolio projects in the field of Cancer Immunology & Immune Modulation (CIIM) and Respiratory Diseases (I+R).
*Together with your experienced team of Scientists you partner on target portfolios in different Therapeutic Areas (TA) and actively contribute to the computational strategy within global Computational Biology & Digital Sciences (gCBDS).
*Using machine learning approaches and integration of data from multiple different sources you enable "in silico first" target identification projects.
*Whilst being the key interface between the Computational Biology department, external collaborators and relevant project teams in the TAs, you play a key role in the experimental design, hypothesis generation and project coordination concerning bioinformatics upstream- and downstream analysis.
*As one of the key leaders in Computational Biology you and your team will also perform novel 'omics approaches' which will be integrated into standard workflows by the Data & Infrastructure team within gCBDS.
*By identifying key scientific research in your community, you build up a TA related knowledgebase.
*Doctoral degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, (Bio)physics/-mathematics, Biochemistry/Biology or similar with strong quantitative focus and high level of competency. Alternatively, master´s degree with longtime, extensive proficiency in an international industry environment
*Extensive experience in omics data analysis (especially RNAseq / scRNAseq), data integration, project management and people leadership
*Several years of professional expertise in leading scientific staff
*An established reputation in the field of computational biology, systems biology or alike including a network of national and international collaborations
*A high-class publication record including several senior authorship publications
