Senior Medical Writer
Location - London or homebased anywhere in the UK!
Superb new opportunity with a leading medical communications agency!
Their work is highly varied in therapy areas such as cardiology, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, oncology, and neurology. Their focus is more in medical education meetings content but they cover many areas. This agency has a superb reputation and are now able to consider people based from their London office or remote based in the UK.
As a Senior Medical Writer you will have a wide range of responsibility including -
*Integrating, interpreting and summarising scientific data from a variety of sources, and adapting this information according to the audience and client brief.
*Producing accurate, concise and insightful material across projects, and taking on board feedback received from scientific and editorial review; developing structural editing skills (rewriting, changing order, flow, etc).
*Research and fact-checking, including checking work against source materials or producing original material to a scientifically robust standard with the support of strategic content specialists/scientific team leads; resolving queries with attention to detail.
*Identifying authors, faculty and clinical trial information in relevant therapeutic areas, and actively pursuing knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and therapeutic developments.
*Adapting writing style for different audiences and for a range of print and digital media, including websites, apps, animations, medical images, events materials and slides.
*Proficient use of PowerPoint to create and edit slides with a range of complexity, such as formatting text, figures, graphs and animations. Suggesting creative solutions to enhance or visualize the content narrative when appropriate.
*Communicating clearly with all departments and senior management, contributing to team meetings and offering ideas to improve efficiency or quality to achieve team goals.
*Effective interaction with clients, key opinion leaders and external teams, and providing content support for events, with assistance from senior team members.
*Taking responsibility for defined aspects of team projects, with increasing levels of autonomy, adhering to delivery timelines, budgets and client expectations.
*Providing input to new business proposals and attending pitches if required to do so by senior team members.
To be considered you will need to have worked in a medical communications agency as a medical writer. You will have the ability to understand complex scientific and medical concepts and have a PhD or bsc in a life science area.
