Scientific Data Manager

Paramount Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading player in the drug discovery field who are looking to recruit a Scientific Data Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the data flow journey from the labs all the way through to the sharing and reporting of data to key clients and stakeholders.
This company have been established for almost 30 years and has leading scientists, state-of-the-art technologies as well as key therapeutic expertise in neuroscience, immunology, metabolic diseases, oncology and infectious diseases. The company intends to develop best-in-class and first-in-class differentiated therapeutics and has long standing relationships with many of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical companies. They operate worldwide but have their HQ in Europe along with more than 5 offices and 3000 employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Liaise with clients, the internal project team and stakeholders to establish the exact requirements for a key data integration project to service the whole company
*Once the needs are established, manage and integrate the data from various sources (internal data, partners' data and/ or public data) at the start of the project and throughout
*Ensure data quality and consistent curation
*Ensure data security and confidentiality
*Wherever possible, apply metadata and clean data at ingestion time
*Promote best data management practices (controlled vocabulary, reference ontologies, data standard in the industry)
Experience and attributes:
*Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science or Engineering
*Background in either I.T., bioinformatics, computer sciences or sciences with strong data manipulation capacities
*Application of good data management, data integration and data governance practices
*Direct usage of relational and non-relational databases
*Definition and setup of Master Data Management, Data Standards / Semantic, Ontologies. Application of FAIR data principles.
*Knowledge in statistics and data analytics (such as tableau, spotfire)
*Experience with data visualisation tools
*A basic understanding of coding in scripting languages (python, R, perl) would be advantageous
