The company is looking for a DevOps Engineer to ensure that their systems are delivered and deployed in the most robust and efficient way. This is a varied and challenging role working with both Delivery and Engineering teams over full project lifecycles.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
*Analyse the technology used by their products and develops steps and processes to improve their delivery and deployment
*Assist other engineers in designing solutions, creating practical demonstrations and demonstrating them to the other members of the team
*Provide input into client proposals through assessment of technical needs, capabilities and requirements
*Install, configure, optimise and manage complex full-stack, big-data systems for development, evaluation and production use include regulated clinical environments
*Ensure that their systems are operation correctly and are secure against cybersecurity threats
*Identify, record and resolve issues related to product delivery and deployment
*Respond to client issues to provide highly responsive customer service and maintain a high level of client satisfaction
*Produce and review relevant documentation to ensure supportability of systems including compliance with software as medical device regulations
The main requirements/qualifications:
*MSc degree or equivalent experience in computer science or software engineering
*Systems engineering experience in cloud/virtualised environments
*Hands on experience with big data technology is preferred (e.g. Hadoop)
*Current understanding of best practices regarding:
oVirtualisation; Azure, AWS, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
oSoftware configuration management.
oSystem security measures.
oSystem and integration testing.
*Familiarity with agile practices and project management processes (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
*Ability to work well with distributed delivery and engineering teams
*Ability to write accurate and meaningful technical documentation and to present to internal and external audiences at meetings, training workshops and conferences
*Don't need to have a life science background
